The three David figurines are excellent examples of how art is usually heavily influenced by the culture and amount of time in which it had been produced. The three versions demonstrate that a person or subject can be shown in different ways and the dissimilarities are a direct reflection in the artist's traditions and well-known styles of his era. One of the many characteristics of the Renaissance was obviously a return to Classical forms, or artistic varieties of ancient The italian capital and Greece. Donatello reintroduced several of these deserted Classical designs with his David. His durete sculpture of David includes a slender, naked youth located on the head with the defeated giant.
